About
A small studio making small tools
Mudry builds Windows utilities that solve one annoyance properly and then get out of the way.
Mudry started the way most utilities do: with a folder full of thousands of files and an afternoon lost to sorting them by hand. The tools that existed either wanted an account, showed ads, or moved files without telling us where they went.
So we built one that previewed everything first and had an undo button. Then we found the next annoyance, and built something for that too.
That is still the whole model. We build the thing we needed, make it fast and private, and put it in the Store for free. If you outgrow the free limits there is a one-time Pro upgrade — no subscription, no funding round, no growth plan that depends on squeezing you.
Principles
What we actually believe
These are the rules we apply when a decision is genuinely difficult — which is the only time principles matter.
Software should do one thing
An app that does five things does four of them badly. We would rather ship six focused tools than one bloated suite, even though the suite would be easier to market.
Your files are yours
Utilities see everything — filenames, folder structures, clipboard contents. The only responsible way to handle that is to never transmit it. Quick File Organizer processes your files locally and works completely offline.
Speed is a feature
If an app takes three seconds to launch, you stop reaching for it. We treat startup time and responsiveness as requirements, not optimisations to do later.
You should know what will happen
Anything that moves or renames your files should be predictable before you run it. Rules you wrote, applied to folders you chose — never a black box acting on your behalf.
No dark patterns, ever
No countdown timers, no pre-checked bundles, no nag screens, no fake urgency. If a feature only works because it tricks someone, it is not a feature.
Small is sustainable
We keep scope small so we can still be maintaining these apps years from now. Ambition is what turns promising utilities into abandonware.
