Terms of service

The short version: the software is free to download and use, including at work, for as long as you like. Some features require an optional one-time purchase. It comes with no warranty, and you are responsible for your own backups.

Plain-language summary

Use the apps freely, including commercially. Some features need a one-time Pro purchase through the Microsoft Store. Do not resell them or claim you wrote them. They are provided as-is — keep backups of anything irreplaceable, as you should anyway.

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of software and websites provided by Mudry Studio. By downloading, installing or using our software, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the software.

2. Licence

We grant you a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to install and use our applications on any number of devices you own or control, for personal or commercial purposes, at no cost.

Certain features are unlocked by an optional one-time purchase (“Pro”) made through the Microsoft Store. That purchase is a transaction between you and Microsoft, governed by the Microsoft Store terms of sale, including its refund policy. The licence granted above continues to apply to the free features whether or not you buy Pro.

This licence does not permit you to:

  • Sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software for a fee.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notices.
  • Represent the software as your own work, or distribute modified versions under a name that implies we produced them.
  • Use the software to do anything unlawful, or to interfere with systems you are not authorised to access.

We retain all intellectual property rights in the software. This is a licence to use it, not a transfer of ownership.

3. No warranty

The software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

4. Your data and backups

Several of our applications move, rename or reorganise files on your device according to rules you configure. You remain responsible for reviewing those rules and for maintaining backups of your own data.

We strongly recommend a current backup before running any bulk file operation, with any tool, including ours.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mudry Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising out of or related to your use of the software — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

6. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any application or feature at any time. Versions you have already installed will continue to work; we have no mechanism to disable them remotely and no intention of building one.

7. Third-party distribution

Where you obtain our software through the Microsoft Store, that platform’s own terms apply to the transaction in addition to these terms.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
