What Quick File Organizer Pro adds
It watches. This is the real difference. Instead of you opening the app and pressing organise, a watched folder is sorted the moment a file appears. The decision you encoded in a rule stops needing you present to execute it.
It removes the caps. Unlimited rules instead of three, and unlimited watched and excluded folders instead of one exclusion. If you are routing more than a handful of file types, or watching Downloads and Desktop and a scans folder, the caps are what you run into first.

Pro is a one-time purchase of $9.99 rather than a subscription — and there is a sale running at the time of writing, so the Store price is the one that counts.
The honest test
Run the free version for a fortnight and count how many times you press the button.
Rarely, and it never bothered you. Stay on free. You have a folder you tidy occasionally and a tool that does it in one click, which is the whole job.
Constantly, or you keep forgetting and finding a backlog. That is what Pro removes. The forgetting is the point — a rule that only runs when you remember is not automation, it is a chore with extra steps.
You hit three rules in the first week. The caps are the constraint rather than the automation, and Pro lifts both together.
What Pro does not add
Worth being explicit, because these are the things people assume come with a paid tier:
- No renaming. Rules move, copy and delete. They do not rename files — that is a separate job, covered in how to batch rename files on Windows.
- No filename matching. Filters work on extension, folder, action and status, not on words inside a name. If your rule is "anything containing invoice", this is not the tool, and the alternatives covers what is.
- No date or content rules. No "older than 30 days", no reading inside files.
- No cloud anything. Everything stays on your machine, in both tiers.
Why buy rather than script it
You can do a version of this with Task Scheduler and a batch file, free, and some people should. The trade is maintenance and the failure modes: scripts move half-downloaded files, overwrite silently, and stop running for reasons that are not obvious. If you enjoy that sort of thing, the script is genuinely fine. If you do not, the purchase is buying back the afternoons you would spend debugging it.
Common questions
Is Quick File Organizer Pro a subscription?
No. It is bought once through the Microsoft Store and stays bought. There is no renewal and no expiry on the free version either.
What happens to my rules if I do not upgrade?
Nothing. They keep working when you press organise. Pro changes when rules run, not whether they work.
Can I try the automatic mode before paying?
Not the watching itself. What you can test for free is the part that actually decides whether automation will help — whether your rules put files where you expected. Run them by hand for a week; if the results are right, automation is worth it.
Does Pro need an internet connection?
Only for the purchase and for updates, both handled by the Microsoft Store. The organizing itself is entirely local in both tiers.
How many folders can Pro watch?
Unlimited, along with unlimited excluded folders. The free version allows one excluded folder and no watching.
Is there a refund if it does not suit me?
Refunds go through the Microsoft Store under their policy rather than through us, since they handle the purchase.
Which should I buy it for first?
